PI at Hannover Messe 2024
With more than 130,000 visitors from 150 countries and 4,000 exhibiting companies, Hannover Messe 2024 (HMI2024) continued to be an important and global meeting place for industry professionals. The show was a great opportunity for PI to once again demonstrate its value to the industry as the leading association for industrial communication and automation technologies. PI used the event to showcase and discuss its PI standards for interoperability that drive scale and innovation.
As in 2023, PI had a 300 square meter booth in Hall 9, and this year with a fresh new exhibit concept. While we continued to provide an overview of our PI technologies and offered our member companies the opportunity to showcase their products at our booth (355 devices from 79 vendors) via company kiosks, this year we also took the opportunity to attract not only experienced OT experts, but also young talent and the “future OT experts” at device vendors, users, and other companies. For this purpose, we created many new infographics with simplified and easy-to-understand information about the entire PI technology and solution portfolio, our main technologies as well as our new ones.
Our PI booth was again a great place to get an overview of the entire PI portfolio for factory automation, process automation and drives & motion control, above and beyond PROFIBUS, PROFINET and IO-Link. We had product and solution demos showing the PI portfolio for process automation with our PA demo wall, the MTP demo, and also our technologies that are now ready for use, including PROFINET over APL, with the relevant PROFINET profiles, plus FDI and PA-DIM. Visitors could also get an overview of our new technologies for factory automation and drives & motion control, including our new “IO-Link Wireless” demo, SRCI for robotics and omlox for real-time localization.
And the PI booth had even more to offer: it was also a meeting point for industrial communication and automation experts and an opportunity to network, engage in meaningful discussions and exchange ideas.
In addition to the technology portfolio and the benefits of our technologies, we also provided an overview of PI as an association, including the benefits of membership, what PI does as an association, and our 35-year history and milestones.
